Who We Are

A Cup of Cold Water International was founded on mission in Haiti. The name is derived from Matthew 10:42. "And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward."  Any reward we receive here, we will eventually lose. Whether it breaks, is stolen, or just left behind when we leave this earth. The reward that Jesus speaks of he says you will never lose. It doesn't have to be maintained, it doesn't depreciate, it doesn't get left behind.  (Matthew 13:44-46)

We strive to maintain a transparent and trustworthy channel for people with a desire to help the Haitian people however they feel led.

Dr. Guy Theodore Airport

Our Focus

In Haiti, our mission is centered on serving those most in need—even within a nation already facing immense challenges. Our headquarters is based in the small town of Pignon, which has become a hub for missionary work, thanks in large part to a nearby airfield (pictured above).

This airfield supports aviation ministries dedicated to transporting missionaries and supplies safely and efficiently around the world. Our new mission house, currently under construction, is within walking distance of the airfield—creating a secure and streamlined channel for reaching the Haitian people with critical resources and support.

Pignon Mission House

A core part of our mission is building and maintaining a safe, efficient, and affordable way to bring missionaries to Haiti. We believe there is immense value in going and meeting our Haitian brothers and sisters face to face.

For the local people, seeing that others from across the world have not forgotten them—and are willing to invest their own time and resources—can be a powerful source of hope. We’ve witnessed countless lives transformed on both sides through this shared experience.

In fact, it was on a mission trip just like the one you're considering that our founder’s life was forever changed. Being there, you're confronted with a powerful truth: we are all fundamentally the same—only born into different circumstances.

In places of privilege, we’re often surrounded by opportunity. In Haiti, many men and women line up outside businesses early each morning, simply hoping for the chance to work—and too often, there is none.

We are currently building a mission house in our headquarters town of Pignon, Haiti. This project is part of our broader effort to reduce the travel expenses for missionaries serving with us. Once completed, the mission house will help us lower the total cost of a 7-day mission trip to just $975 per person.

We’ve already completed the first-level walls and are now raising funds for the ceiling and second-level concrete floor. The remaining cost for this phase is $13,450 USD. This affordable price is made possible thanks to the dedication and expertise of our full-time Construction Manager, John Claude.

Our Churches and Schools

In Haiti, as in many parts of the developing world, churches and schools often go hand in hand. At two of our three church locations, we also operate schools. Normally, student tuition covers the basic expenses of running these schools. However, due to the ongoing gang crisis in Haiti, student attendance has dropped significantly, leaving the schools operating at a financial deficit.

In some areas, teachers go unpaid for months. This is one of the key tactics used by gangs—they create such instability and hardship that, eventually, joining the gang becomes one of the only paying options available.

We’re doing all we can to support these teachers and ensure they receive their wages. We're also helping students who are unable to attend school due to financial hardship, so they can stay on track with their education and break the cycle of poverty and violence.

Haiti Care Package Ministry

Our Care Package Ministry provides emergency, life-sustaining aid to individuals and families facing urgent need. Each care package costs just $16 and includes enough rice, beans, and cooking oil to feed a family of four for a week or more.

Abandoned Widows Ministry

In Haiti, there are no government programs or social assistance systems in place. When a widow has no family or close friends to care for her, she is often left to suffer alone—physically unable to meet her basic needs.

Our ACOCW-International team regularly visits many of these abandoned widows, providing wellness check-ups and delivering essential supplies to support their daily living.

The ACOCW Housing Facility

We are currently in the stage of preparing to launch our biggest project yet. A large two-level housing facility in which we will be able to house the most vulnerable women and children.   We will adopt "The Mully Model" from Mully's Children's Family in Kenya. Focusing on the spiritual, mental, and emotional development of each person. Empowering them with all of the tools and education they will need to partner with God themselves. To then go out into the world and be their own force for good. Allowing the positive impact on Haiti and the world to multiply exponentially.
